Australians have such a strong connection to their barbecue that even the chilliest of nights does not dull the desire for a piece of freshly cooked steak.
To keep you on your barbecuing toes, The Australian Women's Weekly will next month launch Barbecue.The cookbook contains an inspiring assortment of recipes and foodie ideas for all times of the day whether you're after a snack, a meal or even a drink to enjoy around the barbecue.Naturally, some of the recipes have a distinctive summertime feel to them, like the chilli prawns with fresh mango salad or the crunchy rice and herb salad, but other options like the camembert fondue, garlic and rosemary smoked lamb and sausages with pea and bacon mash will warm the heart and stomach on a cold night.So get out your tongs and start cooking.
