About 40,000 people watched the 96 home-made billycarts race on a mini-version of a Grand Prix track, complete with chicanes and pits. Team Disco Fever, from Pymble, NSW, took second prize and Speed Spark, from Melbourne, came third. The Barbeque Boys, from Monbulk, Victoria, can choose between a trip to a European Grand Prix event or $20,000.
